Narcolepsy is a sleep disorder that causes persistent sleepiness throughout the day, disrupting the brain’s ability to regulate sleep-wake cycles. Approximately 60-70% of people diagnosed with narcolepsy also experience cataplexy. Symptoms of cataplexy include sudden loss of muscle tone often triggered by a strong emotion like excitement or laughter. Further development is needed in treating sleep disorders.
If you have narcolepsy with cataplexy, you may be able to help with research to develop new treatment options.
This clinical study is testing an investigational drug. The main purpose of the study is to look at how safe and tolerable the investigational drug is and how it may affect your narcolepsy symptoms.
You may qualify for this study if you:
- Are 18–65 years old
- Have been diagnosed with narcolepsy with cataplexy
- Experience excessive daytime sleepiness
- Experience more than or equal to 4 episodes of cataplexy/week
- Meet additional requirements as determined by a screening process
Your participation will last less than 3 months. Travel support and compensation for study participation may be available.
